Juan Lebrón und Babolat – eine Erfolgsgeschichte des Padels

If you are a padel fan, it is almost impossible not to have heard of Juan Lebrón. Nicknamed "Lobo", the player is an icon on the padel courts in Spain and around the world.

His life

Juan Lebrón Chincoa, known only as Juan Lebrón, is a professional padel player from El Puerto de Santa María, Spain. He was born in 1995 and began his career at the age of 7.

At the beginning of his sporting career, Lebrón stood out as a junior, becoming Spanish junior champion several times and participating in the World Championship.

He excelled from the start on the World Padel Tour, playing the 2016 season with Gabriel Reca, with whom he climbed into the top 30 of the rankings. In 2017, he began the season with Marcello Jardim and finished it with Adrián Allemandi. With both, he performed well and finished the season in 19th place.

In 2018, he began the season with Juan Cruz Belluati. In the first tournament of the season, the Catalunya Master, they reached their first final as a pair after defeating the number one seed pair, Fernando Belasteguín and Pablo Lima, in the semifinals.

For the 2019 season, he played with one of the legends of padel: Paquito Navarro. As a pair, they won five tournaments in Alicante, Jaén, Valladolid, Bastad and São Paulo. With the last victory, Juan Lebrón became the first Spaniard to reach the number 1 ranking of the WPT.

Despite the good results, Lebrón and Paquito decided to go their separate ways. From 2020, Alejandro Galán became Lebrón's new partner. The player from Cádiz and the player from Madrid formed a difficult duo to beat, which led them to lead the WPT ranking in 2020, 2021 and 2022.

Collaboration with Babolat

Padel is in Juan Lebrón's blood. Part of Puerto de Santa María's thriving padel scene, "my father played with his friends and I watched," he recalls, "although to be honest, as a young boy I played more football than padel. My parents insisted that I study hard too. It wasn't until I was 16 or so that I realised I wanted to play padel professionally."

Lebrón believes that Babolat's sponsorship has been crucial to his development. "We first came into contact at the World Championships in Cascais in 2016 and working with Babolat has really helped me grow and improve massively as a player. Every time I've met Eric Babolat, he has treated me very well and always sent me messages of support. I'm very happy to be part of the Babolat family and I want to stay with it for a very long time."

Juan Lebrón's racket

The Babolat Technical Viper by Juan Lebrón is the result of the close cooperation between the Babolat family and Lebrón.

It has become one of the best-selling and most sought-after rackets among very good and professional padel players. Not only because it is used by one of the best players in the world, but because it combines extreme power, maximum spin and exclusive design in a unique way.
