So findest du deinen perfekten Padelschläger - Einsteiger Edition

Are you also caught up in padel and want to finally get started? Are you looking for your first padel racket but don't yet know how the rackets differ from each other?

No problem. To make your search for your perfect padel racket easier, we have summarised the most important points to consider when choosing a racket.

Game level

Choosing the perfect racket depends primarily on your playing level, as most manufacturers differentiate between beginners, advanced and professionals. The boundaries are not clearly defined, but flow from one playing level to the other. The main differences lie in the following criteria: racket shape, weight and balance.

Racket shape

When it comes to racket shapes, a distinction is made between three specific shapes: round , teardrop and diamond . The focus here is on the so-called sweet spot. The sweet spot describes the area of the racket which, when hit at the optimal point, has the greatest impact on your shot. Rackets for beginners often have a large sweet spot and are therefore very forgiving of mistakes. The ball does not always have to be hit perfectly in the middle of the racket to give the ball the desired direction. Thanks to the large sweet spot, the desired effect can be achieved with a larger surface area of the racket than with a professional racket. The sweet spot on a professional racket is very small and it requires a lot of experience and precision to hit the ball in the middle of the racket.

For beginners, we recommend rackets with a round shape. This racket shape gives you the greatest control and the necessary consistency in your shots. The sweet spot in the middle of the racket is usually very large. It forgives you for many mistakes and gives you more confidence in your shots.

Weight

Padel rackets usually weigh between 340 and 390 grams. For beginners, we recommend light models. The appropriate weight here is around 340 - 360 grams. Rackets in this range make it easier to control the ball and give you a more sensitive game.

balance

The balance of a racket refers to the point at which the racket is in equilibrium. Beginners in particular should make sure to choose a racket with a balanced or handle-heavy balance. If the center of gravity of the racket is in the handle area, the racket is easier to move, gives your shots more control and requires less power.
